2025 World Series Picks

Welcome to Fans v. AI v. Wife World Series Picks.

Rules

The rules are simple. We will make our World Series picks after the regular season ends. And when the two remaining teams make it to the World Series, we will make our final picks. Of course, whomever picked the correct World Series winner from the start will win this year’s World Series Picks. We will use the number of games for tiebreakers. And if no one selects the correct winner, if someone selected the wrong team in the World Series, that will go into account. If the early picks do not determine a winner, we can go to the World Series pick and use the number of games for tie breakers. In the end, if everything is all tied up, we can look into which teams players selected that made it further into the playoffs. And if there’s still a tie at the end of it all, we can have multiple winners for the year. Let’s meet our players!

Raymond (Fans)

Hello! I’m Raymond E. Strawn III. Baseball used to be my favorite sport. I played Little League Baseball for many years, but I slowly started losing the love for the game. Football and basketball leap frogged over baseball, but I still follow it every year. Born in Oakland, I grew up an A’s fans. It’s definitely hard rooting for them now. Most of my life, I have hated the Yankees. Since the A’s haven’t had much success in a long time, I get my celebration and joy from watching the Yankees lose.

As a baseball fan, I have watched the Red Sox and the Cubs break the curse. There have also been few recent teams breaking 50+ years World Series droughts. I might not find baseball as fun like I used to, but the story lines in the World Series are interesting and entertaining. And I look forward making my picks with my fellow players.

Shaniece (Wife)

Hiiii. My name is Shaniece King. I’m born and raised in San Francisco so of course I’m a Giants fan. I don’t know anything about baseball. I picked based on the logos.

Savannah (Fans)

Hello everyone, Savannah here! The end of the baseball season has arrived, so it’s time for the World Series! Whoo-hoo! Hopefully, my team, the Yankees, will make it again this year, so I can see a rematch between them and the Dodgers. That will be really nice, especially if they win. I’ll be looking forward to watching!

Dodgers — To be the Champ, you have to beat the Champ, right? Sure, the Dodgers didn’t play as well as most people thought and reached 100+ wins, but who could really root against Ohtani.

Yankees —  I just don’t like the Yankees, but I don’t trust any other team in the AL to advance to the World Series. The Yankees have the experience and star power to make it through October. And let’s be honest, most MLB fans want that rematch.

Savannah

Yankees vs. Brewers (4-2)

Yankees — Of course I’m going to pick the Yankees, they’re my team! We made it to the World Series last year and had an embarrassing loss, so this will be our comeback year. We’ll take it home this time. The Yankees beat the Brewers 3-0 this season, so I think they can beat them in the World Series too. It would be nice if they could beat them 4-0, but the Brewers are good, so I’ll guess they’ll win a couple of games, but still fall short. Let’s goooo Yankees!

Brewers — They’re the number one seed in NL and the “best” team in MLB this season. At first, I was going to have a rematch between the Dodgers and Yankees, because that’ll be another good World Series matchup, but the Brewers swept the Dodgers during the regular season (6-0) so I’m positive they’ll be the NL team to make it to the World Series this year.

• Phillies — I think they have enough firepower and momentum to win the NL and make it all the way.

• Mariners — For the AL, I’m leaning toward Seattle. I like their upward trajectory, and I think they’ve built in enough resilience to get through some tough matchups.

So I’d predict a Phillies vs. Mariners World Series, with a slight edge to the Phillies.

I think the Dodgers will most likely win. They won last year, which will give them the drive to win again, and they completely swept the Brewers, who were the #1 seed, so I think they’ll easily beat the Blue Jays.
